Inland Northwest Broadcasting has flipped its former Hot AC “MyRadio 102.5” KRAO-FM Colfax/Pullman WA to Classic Hits “102.5 KRPL“.
The launch comes after the station had been stunting with Christmas music throughout late November and December as “North Pole Radio” and then looped Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass’ “Whipped Cream” with imaging from former cluster Operations Manager Steve Shannon emphasizing “BIG changes coming to 102.5” until this morning’s launch. The new brand is focusing on music from the 1970s through 90s utilizing the calls of co-owned “1400 ESPN” KRPL Moscow ID, which was the heritage Top 40 in the region from 1975 to 1985 when sister “ZFun 106” KZFN launch.
The new brand will be voiced by Shannon, while former KZFN and XHTZ San Diego talent, and WYOY Jackson MS PD Matt Mony will consult programming and host mornings. Mony stated, ““With the launch of this radio station, we are passionate about two thing, Driving passion for radio, and making sure our local businesses continue to succeed. The partnership between 102.5 KRPL and the downtown Pullman businesses is vital for everybody’s survival.”
The station is launching with a “3 months to thrive in downtown Pullman” campaign offering free advertising to businesses in Pullman WA that have been negatively impacted by months of construction through the end of March..
Inland Northwest Broadcasting Sales Manager Jon Carson commented, ““We are excited to build a brand which will serve our radio audience AND advertisers. The heritage branding ‘KRPL’ returning for classic hits is the missing piece of the puzzle.”
